Our Awards Ceremony will be Monday, May 12th at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. Anyone and everyone is invited and dress code is semi formal. Expect performances and awards and a general celebration of our year.

About

Benton Theatre

Benton High School has a proud history of theatrical success spanning over 80 years. We put on a musical in the fall and typically a spring play. We also host a one act festival in the spring semester. We are dedicated to providing the students on the Southside of St. Joseph with a well-rounded knowledge of life outside of high school through the lens of theatrical productions. Mr. Connors is extremely excited to join the Benton High School theatre family! This is Mr. Connors’ first year teaching. He just graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Speech/ Theatre Education. He was born and raised in St. Joseph, and has participated in many productions with Robidoux Resident Theatre as well as Missouri Western. Mr. Connors is so happy to be able to return home and build this program to much higher heights!

Mrs. Welter is and always will be a staple of Benton High School! Having taught at BHS for over 20 years, she has helped the theatre department put of many, many musicals. She is truly and asset to our team!

Dr. Micheal Shane Heard
Speech/ Debate Coach

This will be Dr. Heard's 2nd year teaching at BHS having taught at Lafeyette for over 30 years. He served as the speech and theatre teacher for 1 year and will serve as an advisor and Speech and Debate coach for the foreseeable future.
